Vernisáž výstavy Slovinsko ve stříbře
Event description

Light, Time, and the Serene Power of Large Format

Why, in today’s fast-paced world full of digital haste, do we set up heavy darkrooms in the landscape, wrap ourselves in black fabric, and patiently wait for that one, perfect moment? The answer lies in the ritual itself. Large format is not just a technique; it is a state of mind. It is a conscious slowing down, during which photography transforms into a deep dialogue with the landscape, where every step, every focus, and every exposed plate carries absolute weight. Our work is calm, focused, and analog—just like the human being itself.

This exhibition takes you to Slovenia, a landscape interwoven with powerful stories and monumental nature. Our journey first led us to the wild valley of the Soča River—to places where, more than a century ago, amid the hardships of war, Josef Sudek and Přemysl Koblic took photographs. We walked in their footsteps, surrounded by the same silence of the mountains, and through the viewfinders of our cameras, we sought to capture the timeless memory of this magical place, sanctified by both blood and beauty.

From the mountain chill, we then moved to a completely different world—to the Slovenian Jerusalem. The sun-drenched landscape, undulating with vineyards and filled with tranquility, offered us a contrast to the raw monumentality of Sochi. Here, the large-format film took its time, soaking up the subtle half-tones of light and shadow with a precision that modern technology cannot replicate.

We present images that were not created with a split-second click, but were lived through. They are a celebration of slowness, craftsmanship, and the pure essence of photography.

Artists: the Triplet group—Dana Stránská, Ivan Nehera, Andrea Benešová.
