The trail of William of Pernštejn
This guided walk introduces the history of Pardubice and the influential noble family of Pernštejn, who shaped the city in the Renaissance period.
During the tour you will discover the historic centre and learn about important events and personalities connected with the city. If you wish, the tour can also include a visit to the Green Gate lookout tower.
Myths and Legends of Pardubice
This entertaining tour takes you through the streets of the historic centre and reveals the myths and legends connected with the city.
How did Pardubice get its coat of arms? Why is gingerbread so closely linked with the city? Your guide will answer these questions and share many interesting stories along the way.
Both this tour and the Trail of William of Pernštejn can also be adapted for children’s groups.
Pardubice in the footsteps of Silver A
Pardubice played an important role in the anti-Nazi resistance during World War II. This trail follows the last journey of Alfred Bartoš, commander of the Silver A paratrooper group, which also cooperated with the Anthropoid group during the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.
Military hospital "Karanténa"
Explore the site of what was once the largest World War I military hospital in Europe. Located in the area of today’s Dukla district, the tour introduces the everyday life of doctors, nurses and wounded soldiers.
Across nine stops you will learn why the hospital was unique and why it was known as “Barrack Town”.
