Když kočky řvou: Natálie Paurová a Markéta Mourková

Hi there, we’re Natálie Paurová and Markéta Mourková—one of us sings, the other plays guitar, and together we make up the duo *Když kočky řvou*.
The name came about quite naturally: we both have cat tattoos, we love Nerez, and Markéta’s last name is Mourková. So we didn’t even have to think too hard about it.

We’ve been into music since we were little—it’s something that calms us, entertains us, and gives our lives meaning. And since we also enjoy sharing what we love, that’s how our little band came to be.

We met at a freshman orientation when we both started studying psychology at Charles University. Around midnight, Natálka played “Já s tebou žít nebudu” by Nerez on the speaker—and Markétka ran out of one of the tents, shouting:

“Who’s playing Nerez here?”
And that was that.

Since then, we’ve been playing together at various events, mainly in cafés in Pardubice. Most often you’ll hear Nerez, Zuzana Navarová, Radůza, and occasionally Édith Piaf, Karel Plíhal, or something in between. We play the songs we love—and we hope you’ll love them too!
