The Pardubice Chateau is an exceptional monument in many respects. The Pernštejn family hid the Renaissance palace with its representative halls behind a wall of massive defensive ramparts. Here you will find the oldest nude in the history of Czech art, Fortuna Volublis (The Fickle Fortune), the Knights' Halls with Renaissance paintings, the Chapel of the Three Kings or a secret civil defence shelter.

You can see almost the entire castle through the exhibition Pernštejn Residence - the oldest Renaissance in Bohemia. You can take a guided tour every hour or independently.

It is necessary to book in advance a tour of the civil defence shelter (option for adults and children), hidden in the castle walls, or a tour of the Pernštejn chest. The castle is now the seat of the East Bohemian Museum in Pardubice. Thanks to this, it is possible to see many other exhibitions, such as the numismatic exhibition You Can't Take Money to the Grave or the glass exhibition S.K.L.E.M.

When visiting the castle, don't forget to climb the castle's spiral staircase or take part in one of the many events that are regularly held at the castle throughout the year. And, of course, no visitor should leave without a tour of the castle ramparts accompanied by crowned peacocks. We recommend a stroll at least to the first roundabout, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Republic Square and the conscience, which is called "Pardubice Nuremberg".
