Event description
Take a trip back to the middle of the last century and explore the authentic premises of the civil defence shelter built in the ramparts of Pardubice Castle! The top secret construction of the shelter took place in the second half of 1953. The underground premises were then used as a regional command post for civil defence, which was to manage rescue work in the event of an enemy attack, radioactive fallout hitting the city, or even during natural disasters. The building is still equipped with its own filtration plant, well, teletype, telephone exchange, desalination plant and diesel generator. The temperature in the shelter is 10-15 °C, so be sure to wear appropriate clothing!
