Toulky Laosem a Kambodžou - cestopisná přednáška
Amazing and colourful SE Asia
Presented by David Hainall
A turbulent history, abundant natural beauty and riches, UNESCO-listed historical gems and the current political and economic climate make these countries some of the region's most attractive destinations to see before they are finally swallowed up by the globalised world. The axis of our journey will be the Mekong River, which has shaped the local landscape, culture and history for thousands of years. We will drive through the most interesting places of Laos and Cambodia.
We will start our tour of Laos in Luang Prabang, one of the most beautiful cities in Southeast Asia, with its beautiful waterfalls, karst caves and bustling marketplaces. We will explore the amazing karst landscape around Vang Vieng with its caves, tropical mogotes and rice paddies by bike and on foot. The enchanting region of 4,000 islands on the Mekong River is also awaiting us. We will not forget one of Asia's greatest attractions, the monumental historic temple complex of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or the largest lake in Southeast Asia, Tongle Sap, and fishing villages. We will also relax on the beaches of the tropical island of Koh Rong.
