The Winternitz Automatic Mills National Cultural Monument is one of the buildings designed by architect Josef Gočár. The monumental mill building on the banks of the Chrudimka River in the centre of Pardubice was designed by architect Gočár in 1909 for the Winternitz brothers. In 1924 the complex was extended with a grain silo. The automatic mills operated continuously for more than 100 years until 2013.
Since 2016, thanks to the initiative of Mariana and Lukáš Smetana and their family foundation, the Automatic Mills Foundation, the mill brownfield has been undergoing a transformation into a modern cultural and social urban district.

Gočár's Gallery

Gočár's Gallery

Today's Gočár Gallery in Pardubice was established as the Regional Gallery in 1953, at the time when the network of state galleries was being established in the Czech Republic. In 2000, the Gočár Gallery regained the reconstructed House U Jonáše, where it also started its exhibition activities. In 2023 it opened a second part in the building of the Automatic Mills.

For the purposes of a modern gallery, the former industrial building is extremely attractive. Exhibition halls for exhibitions and expositions, modern depositories, as well as high-quality facilities for working with collections have been created here.

The gallery's exhibition spaces are complemented by an educational studio, a lecture hall, a library, an observation deck and a gallery café. At the same time, some of the elements of the original mill, such as transmissions, hoppers, etc., have been preserved in the space.

Gampa

GAMPA, or the Gallery of Pardubice, has been operating since 2012. The aim of the gallery is to introduce contemporary art to the general public and to create a platform for discussion on current artistic and social issues. It offers an inspiring, experiential and relaxing space open to everyone without distinction. The Gallery of Pardubice is a non-profit and non-collecting institution.

Gampa

From September 2023, GAMPU will be located in the newly renovated Automatic Mills on the site of the original grain flour warehouses. The gallery operates in exhibition space on the ground floor and also has two residential apartments.

Silo - Automatic Mills Foundation

Silo - Automatic Mills Foundation

The Foundation initiated the conversion of the brownfield into a modern urban cultural and social district. It is now the coordinator of the Automatic Mills brand. Its headquarters is the former grain silo, which is the starting point of the sightseeing routes, the meeting point, the background and the heart of the area. She curates the public space of Automatic Mills, focusing on the overlap between architecture and art.

In the silo building in the original hoppers, it presents exhibitions tailored to these specific spaces. The top floors of the silos then house a multifunctional hall and a terrace with a view.
