Erben’s unique collection of ballads inspired by folk legends and tales comes to life once again. The stage adaptation by director Janka Ryšánek Schmiedtová and composer Vladivojna La Chii uses spectacular musical and visual imagery to peer into the often-dark recesses of the human soul, where the most powerful emotions lie hidden. Forget the “required” (= boring) school reading list and imagine the fantastical world of our ancestors’ legends, where love, betrayal, death, the laws of nature, and supernatural forces merge intoone grand, gripping story (enhanced in the summer by the unique atmosphere of our open-air stage beneath Kunětická hora Castle).
