Pardubice Castle is one of the city’s most important landmarks. Originally built as a water fortress, it was gradually transformed into a Renaissance residence closely associated with the noble Pernštejn family, who played a key role in shaping the city’s history.

Today, visitors can explore the impressive Knight’s Halls, the Chapel of the Three Kings, and the remarkable wall painting Fortuna Volubilis (The Fickle Fortune) – considered the oldest painted nude in the Czech lands. The castle complex also includes a Civil Defence Shelter, offering insight into the Cold War period.

The East Bohemian Museum, located within the castle, presents a diverse range of exhibitions focused on regional history, art and nature.

For panoramic views, walk along the castle ramparts or climb the castle tower. Throughout the year, the castle hosts various cultural events, and a café in the courtyard provides a pleasant place to relax during your visit.

For opening hours and current information, please visit the castle’s official website.
