The Czech Republic's Labour Office is an administrative authority responsible for tasks related to employment, employee protection during employer insolvency, and state social support.It provides all citizens with information services on employment opportunities, particularly information on job vacancies in the Czech Republic, EU countries, and employment conditions abroad (EURES), opportunities for further education, and advisory services for career choice or change, retraining, or job placement.
For job seekers, it offers services related to job placement, pays unemployment benefits and retraining support, and may provide subsidies for creating socially beneficial jobs for self-employment or commuting to work.
It grants employment permits to foreigners in the Czech Republic. For employment purposes, a foreigner is defined as a natural person who is neither a citizen of the Czech Republic nor an EU citizen or their family member.
