Vysoké Tatry is home to the world's smallest high mountains, the High Tatras, whose territory is identical to that of the atypical town of the same name. It consists of a sixty-kilometre-long chain of fifteen Tatra towns and settlements from Podbabský in the west to the Tatra Basin in the east. Thousands of permanent inhabitants are regularly added to the four thousand during the summer and winter tourist season. The cooperation with this town is still very short and is mainly in the field of culture. After the natural disaster that struck the High Tatras in autumn 2004, Pardubice was among the first to lend a helping hand.

The folklore ensemble from the High Tatras enriched the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic with its cultural performance. Another cultural exchange took place in 2009, when the musical ensemble Goralská hudba by Daniel Damer together with two craftsmen participated in the Slovak Day at the Pardubice racecourse. In recent years, representatives of the Slovak town have regularly come to the Pardubice Wine Half Marathon. The Slovak partner is of course very close to us, so the cooperation will certainly continue successfully.
